Our brief was to upgrade three existing science rooms and prep spaces to comply with the required standards and to re-align with the science pedagogy of the College.
The refurbishment design for the science labs supported interdisciplinary physics, geology and biology studies to be undertaken in a collaborative learning environment. Perimeter benches were also included to put science on display. The incorporation of mobile central lab benches encouraged a flexible lab and teaching environment.
The project consisted of the complete renovation of the three existing classrooms. External walls were removed to expose a concrete structure and the complete lining of walls, ceiling, beams and columns was undertaken. The new lab features wireless technology, the latest overhead data projectors and interactive whiteboard, black out blinds, sensor lighting, louvres to the northern and southern walls allowing for cross ventilation, Broen tapware, mobile lab desks and seamless flooring.
